Commitment is a consistent issue among couples who have been together for a sufficient amount of time. This movie starts off with this particular issue at hand. The woman in the relationship is left utterly disappointed with her boyfriends lack of proposal when it mattered most. It appears that their relationship lacks a certain spark that is able to keep it fresh and alive.

Yet this smart young woman feels otherwise. While this appears silly, it is often difficult for us to move on from those that matter most. Therefore, in an attempt to make her relationship everything she has ever hoped for she packs her bags for Ireland. Her potential husband is on a business trip in Ireland during a leap year. In this particular film it is a so-called Irish tradition that a woman can propose to a man during the special day in a leap year.

While in Ireland she encounters nothing but obstacle after obstacle. However, she is lucky enough to stumble into a young man who helps her along the way. She does not realize it at the time that this man is actually trying to help her. The young woman attempts to push him away and hold her head high. Yet as the movie progresses he slowly starts to get to her.

This is simply the result of spending a significant amount of time with another kind person when you have truly hit a low point and feel completely helpless. However, he was not there to push her back down while she was out but simply to hold her hand and help her along the way. This is an extremely kind gesture when this woman is on this long journey for another man.

The young man turns out to be a good man who helped her through all of her struggles along the way. Without his help she never would have completed her long and treacherous journey. Throughout the time they spent together during their journey the young man is able to impart some wisdom upon this young woman. He is able to show her the true meaning of life. This is the message that the audience should take away from the film.

In the end you will find it difficult to keep your eyes off of this film. More people will recommend this movie than not to all of their friends and family. If you enjoy a romantic film that both you and your partner will enjoy this is truly the right selection.

If you were to simply pick this movie up off of the shelf you would never realize the amazing qualities that it possesses inside. This movie will force you to realize it is the little things in life that will make us happy. Money does not buy happiness despite our long endeavors to obtain as much of it as we possibly can.
