Since 1884, Portman Road was always the stadium for Ipswich Town Football Club who currently compete in the Championship in England. It is a all seater arena that has a capacity of 30,031 and lies in the heart of Ipswich, simply a couple of hundred metres from the train station that’s on the mainline to London.
The stands at either end within the arena have been rebuilt in the last few years and there are many executive boxes and other suites that may host corporate events in.

With income becoming increasingly more critical to clubs, various other opportunities were considered to make use of the stadium throughout the summertime as there wasn’t any football.
In the summer of 1991, Status Quo become the 1st of many different big music superstars and groups to perform at Portman Road. Yet it was over a decade prior to the next great music act came to Ipswich when Elton John played at the stadium. Subsequently, impetus has increased with lots of foremost pop stars performing such as Tina Turner, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, REM, Dire Straits, Neil Diamond, Rod Stewart and more lately, Pink.
The summer events at Portman Road are going to continue because they reward both the football club along with the area.
