Picking a Portable 10 inch DVD Nowadays is Confusing
Going out on a family road trip, any parent in the front seat would wish for a distraction to amuse the kids back in the passenger area with. Something they can watch their CSI and Sex and the City DVDs with and giggle once in a while when they find something a bit naughty or shocking. A 10 inch portable DVD player is just the thing to use to help quiet things down back there.
Let us now check on the two famous portable DVD players that are available in stores worldwide. While it is true that smaller players can play well, the truth is it can’t give out robust sound to be able to interest people at the back seat while on a road trip. Hence, bigger players can be considered. Take note of this two players, the Toshiba SD-P101S as well as the RCA DRC6331B.
The Toshiba has a 10.2 inch screen, the DVD player is DivX certified, and the screen swivels. What’s great about this player is its versatility. It comes with a card slot, and can easily play media stored on all kinds of data cards. This machine starts at $300 on Amazon. The other machine in this lineup, the RCA, costs half what the Toshiba does.
In terms of money, the sacrifices appear just a lil’ on the substantial side. To begin with, this player has no DivX capabilities. It could play DVDs and of course audio CDs, but that’s it! If these are just the only types of media you want to play, then this player is just fine.
The Toshiba produces an excellent picture that holds up properly in daylight , unless there’s a person putting right on the screen. The battery usually lasts for around five hours, and for that sort of stamina, you can expect that it is a bit heavy machine. Furthermore, there’s one complaint about these players, and this is because it only offers three month warranty.
Also the other portable ten inch DVD player that has good image quality is called the RCA. The battery nonetheless usually lasts for less than around three hrs, which is already good enough for you to play a full-length film or possibly two on it.
So which should it be? The RCA is clearly a much more limited machine in every way. Not only does it not play anything other than standard DVDs, it has issues trying to stay alive for longer durations. Is it worth it to buy the Toshiba for your extra money? While it’s features are great, Toshiba really doesn’t need to overcharge its products, and for this reason, you might want to look elsewhere.
