Morgan Porterfield Freeman – A Lifetime Achievement Award Winner
Today, Morgan Freeman presents a great television, actor and narrator career. For sure, you remember him especially for his characteristic voice. He is a very respected and popular Hollywood actor.
So far, Morgan Freeman won different awards such as Screen Actors Guilt Award, Oscar and Golden Globe Award. Besides these, he was repeatedly nominated for different other awards such as Academy Awards is. He won his first Oscar for the character performed in Million Dollar Baby.
Early life of Morgan Freeman Morgan Freeman was born during 1937 in Memphis, Tennessee. His parents were Mayme Edna and Morgan Porterfield Freeman, Sr. Morgan Freeman’s first wife was Jeanette Adair Bradshaw and later he married Myrna Colley-Lee on June 16, 1984
After this period, he lived in Los Angeles where he got a job as transcript clerk. Unsatisfied by this job, soon he had also tried New York City where obtained a dancer job at World’s Fair. This thing brought him closer to the artistic life that he loves.
Freeman made his debut in the movie The Nigger lovers. People in the American media started recognizing him through shows like Another World and The Electric Company. His first appearance was in the film “Who Says I Can’t Ride A Rainbow”. For almost two years he took part in the day time drama Days of our lives.
Morgan Freeman’s Bets Performances In 1987, Norman Freeman is nominated for the Oscar Award, thanks to his great performance in Street Smart. A year later, he accepted to play the main character in Clean and Sober. After this movie, he was proposed for the same Oscar award to reword his great performance of the main character in Driving Miss Daisy.
The third Oscar nomination was for the movie The Shawshank Redemption. Freeman displayed his talent as a director in the movie Bopha! The other movies that can be added to his credit are Seven, Amistad, Unforgiving; Kiss the Girls and so on.
Later, he shows interest into a director career and tries his chance with the movie Bopha. Anyway, as this did not present a favorable result, he accepted the role in The Shawshank Redemption, a prison drama. He also interprets great parts in movies such as Kiss the Girls, Unforgiving, Amistad or Seven and many others.
They year 2005 was a lucky one for Freeman as he had three blockbuster movies to his credit. The blockbuster hits were War of the Worlds, Batman Begins and March of the Penguins. Adding to the huge list of box office hits was another movie called ‘The Dark Knight’ whcih was released in the year 2008. In the movie Invictus, Freeman fulfilled his dream by playing Nelson Mandela’s character. He won the Golden Globe award for this motion picture drama.
