Gift Your Children With Instruments To Further Their Skills
Here’s a great gift idea for children that many people don’t think of: musical instruments. Why not give your child musical instruments to play with? When a child has instruments, they can spend many happy hours entertaining themselves, and be learning at the same time. Sadly, in many cases parents don’t think of musical instruments when they are choosing gifts.
Something to think about is that there are eight different types of intellgences, according to professional educators’ recent theories. Some people learn visually, others aurally. Still others learn via music.
If you supply your children with musical instruments you help encourage them in this form of learning. Your child can explore musical toys and thus discover the world of music. Instruments also help kids to learn during play.
Kids get into the educational activity much more fully when they are having fun. You want to do what you can to expose your kids to as many of the different modes of intelligence as possible. If you do this, you encourage your children to develop different skills, and you also help them to become more well-rounded.
Kids can learn via music and parents can encourage this learning in many ways. There are many different ways to encourage this and there can be very good results. One example would be to use music to help kids learn math.
Young kids can learn to count via music. Math and music actually go together very well. Parents can also teach rhythm and meter via music. There is no reason for concern if you aren’t an expert musician by the way, even beginners can use this teaching tool.
Children can also learn social skills via music. Kids musicals help children to learn how to take turns. When kids are playing music together, they have to learn when it is time for another child to get to be the center of attention, or to play their instrument for a while. These activities can be very helpful for many children.
When kids are encouraged to learn through play, this is very effective. Remember though, kids should also get to play with their instruments independently. This is an important form of exploring and also a crucial part of learning.
