Those that watch movies from Disney on a regular basis can easily tell you how absolutely wonderful they are. They have the magical capability of transporting you to another time, and another place. Gone are the dreary anxieties of the day, and happy is your heart as you watch the fabulous Disney characters find their hopes and dreams coming true before your eyes. If you haven’t ever seen a film by Disney, then allow me to share a couple timeless favorites.

What is likely one of the most well known Disney animation is the Sorcerer’s Apprentice. This, of course, stars Mickey Mouse as a young helper of a very powerful magician. He gives young Mickey the task of cleaning the floors in his house. But Mickey figures he can use magic to help him in his chores.

Of course, once he starts the magic, he can’t stop it. And the lesson here for the kids is that the world is big and powerful place. Once you uncork some of it’s magic, you can’t stuff the genie back into his bottle. This, of course, hearkens back to the old story of Pandora’s Box. We all know what happened with that tragic story.

One more absolutely fantastic movie is “Finding Nemo.” This is based on the classic Disney theme of a child only having one parent, and having to face the harsh truths of the world sooner than they otherwise would have to. In this particular story, the father and son get separated, and the father has to go on a quest to find his son. This is one classic that will truly stand the test of time.

Of course, there are many other movies that you can watch. Most films are designed to evoke deep feelings of happiness and togetherness. They are all based around a family theme, and you can never go wrong with them. They can be watched alone, with your friends, or with your children. And they will always make you feel that special feeling you get when you know that everything is going to be all right. It may be worth a trip down to your video store to see what they have.

Naturally, people will always criticize these movies as showing too much real world trouble to youngsters, such as single parent families. But these are simple facts of life, and they are best presented in the best possible way.
