Disney Brings Tron Legacy To Life With Cutting Edge Digital 3D Technology
Disney is taking 3D film to the limit by revisiting the micro universe of Tron in Tron Legacy. This 2010 movie stars Jeff Bridges, Bruce Boxleitner, and Garrett Hedlund to list a few. Several of the actors in this film were in the prequel over twenty years ago.
Tron Legacy was a perfect choice for 3D as it takes place in a living video game through which a man and his companion have to search for his missing father. The story follows a young man who joins the video game world to search find his game developing father who’d been imprisoned there for decades.
The visuals of this science fiction phenomenon, as well as its family appeal, makes it a perfect proponent for the world of 3D film. Family oriented science fiction has made quite a name for itself in the world of 3D production with things like the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows movie and Journey to the Center of the Earth. 3D is an extremely popular method of marketing science fiction films to a wider audience. Tons of people enjoy seeing 3D movies for the spectacle, without really caring about the plot or storyline. The fact is that 3D has reached a point where the technology is much more affordable and effective, so it can be used to draw enormous crowds.
The third dimension on the big screen may have gotten its beginning over fifty years ago, but it wasn’t until the early twenty-first century that it became the major success that it is now. Disney has been producing these kinds of films longer than just about any film production studio around today. In fact, Disney released one of the first mass-viewed 3D experiences with their 1950 hit movies Working for Peanuts and 3D Jamboree.
Most of the films being screened in 3D these days are actually produced by Disney. Nearly every major Disney production released since the early 2000s has been available in 3D. These films are not the scratchy, low quality films of the 1950s either. They are digitally mastered and perfected to make for truly fantastic cinematic experiences, one of the many things that the Disney Corporation is known for.
From here 3D movies are only guaranteed to get better and better. 3D TV sets and video game systems are already available to be enjoyed in your very own home. The existence of 3D is expected to become even more common place. One day all films, in every genre, may be produced with some version of this technology.
You should bring your family and watch Tron Legacy and remember to check Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Movie
