Digital Video Recording And Its Invaluable Role In Technology
I still remember when I first saw an ad in a technology magazine for something called a Digital Video Recorder. I thought to myself, this will never work, how on Earth can you manage to store hours of films on something called a hard drive? It just seemed that tapes and cassettes were always going to be around.
Great idea I remember thinking to myself. No more running out of tapes all the time, no more having to fish around with fast forward and rewind options to try to find the program that I wanted to watch.
I remember what made it even more appealing was the fact that you could record programs automatically as well. You just set the timer and away you went. You did not even have to be at home to record your favorite program, and the picture quality was supposed to be as good as the original.
But as the first Digital Video Recorders were selling for about $1000.00 at the time, it was hard to find that kind of money. But after a year or two the price did drop, and I bought my very first DVR, and the only thing that did bother me was the fact that you could only update your TV listings by ringing up for them.
Bu in the end it was well worth the wait, my life was made so much easier by the introduction of the new Digital Video Recorder.
Technology has moved on even further since its first inception, and a DVR can now hold even more programs than before.
It seems such a long time ago when I first bought my DVR, but funnily enough it wasn’t that long ago, and I cannot see myself without one now.
They are such a handy piece of equipment to have, and if anything goes wrong with your cable, at least you have a back up of programs to watch that are stored on your DVR.
