Another Australian Made Film Wows Film Enthusiasts
A new Aussie picture has just been released that is based on a very successful book for teenagers. The Tomorrow When the War Began movie is based on a novel of the same name by successful Australian novelist John Marsden and it has done exceptionally well since its launching.
John Marsden, an school teacher who now runs his own educational facility in Victoria Australia, found himself crafting books mainly because he was disturbed by the lack of passion his teenage students expressed in reading.
He definitely switched that condition around as soon as the first novel in the series was published. In fact his book was so greatly thought of that it was included as part of the English course in Australian high schools and has transformed many a non-reader into a passionate reader – at least when it comes to reading his series of the Tomorrow books.
Now the original book of the series is a successful movie and film buffs of various age groups are queuing up to see it. It’s the account of seven teenagers who go camping in the Australian bush and return back from their venture to find their homes abandoned and their loved ones disappeared.
They then go into town to try to discover what is going on and find out that their town was occupied by an unknown enemy force while they were back on their camping holiday. The group do whatever they can to prevent capture by the enemy troops and choose to devise a plan to lessen the enemy’s stronghold on the town.
It’s an exciting adventure flick that’s got you sitting on the edge of your seat in some scenes. The movie also shows the way each personality stretches and develops in the tough situation they discover themselves in. It looks at the uncertainties each teen faces in coming to terms with what has happened to their town and their loved ones who are being detained by force at the community showground. Troops of soldiers patrol the streets so they must be vigilant in order to prevent getting imprisoned themselves.
The film was filmed in Australia in parts of beautiful pristine wilderness zones of the Hunter Valley and Blue Mountain areas, and the action shots were filmed largely at the Fox Studios in Sydney.
