Different opinions and views have been raised regarding books with female protagonists. However, what really matters is a developed character that has attributes that are realistic. Most people should be aware that gender is never really an important attribute to look at. In most cases, a woman character is given an unrelatable reputation.

Nevertheless, it is always exciting to read a book about a strong woman character. The market is so saturated with writings in male heroes that it makes it a delight reading a book that features a fully realized heroine who has her own strengths and flaws. Women are usually relegated to roles of sidekicks or love interest because most publishers think of them as being so.

When people go through their mental inventory, they discover that their bookshelves are covered by male books on male characters. The authors themselves are male and the few women that are in the field, many people do not really read what they write. However, if one takes his time to reads the novels written by women, he will discover that they are interesting as well.

There are usually mixed feeling when it comes to the novels that have female protagonists. This is because, not everyone knows the exact meaning of a woman who is strong. A person may view such a woman as the one who courageously gets into an adventure. This is however not the case. A strong woman is that who has unbeatable morals which people can always relate to.

When a person is reading for enjoyment purpose, they like to read about the characters that they can relate to. A young reader will favor a protagonist that is like him/her. A woman on the other hand will read a book containing a woman character.

Therefore, it is always not right to conclude that books with female protagonists aren't interesting. This will simply depend on an individuals preference. Each and every person has a liking for different characters, whether it is men or women.
